TREK Job Extravaganza Inspires Students with Hands-On Career Exploration

On Friday, November 7th, Goodwill of Mississippi, in partnership with the Mississippi Department of Rehabilitation Services (MDRS), hosted the TREK Job Extravaganza — a dynamic career exploration event designed to help students from the Clinton Public School District with diverse learning needs gain real-world experience and confidence for their futures.

The event offered students an opportunity to engage in hands-on job simulations, connect directly with local employers, and learn about a wide range of career paths available within their communities. By creating a space for interactive learning, the TREK Job Extravaganza aimed to bridge the gap between classroom education and workplace readiness.

Community Partners Making an Impact

Goodwill of Mississippi extends heartfelt gratitude to the many organizations and businesses who helped make this event possible through their participation and support:

  • Ambiance Landscape, LLC

  • Brown Bottling Group

  • Clinton Police Department

  • Community Bank

  • Fastenal Company

  • Hinds Community College

  • Lobaki

  • Magcor

  • Milwaukee Tool

  • Mississippi Department of Wildlife, Fisheries, and Parks

  • Nissan

  • The Sunray Companies

  • University of Mississippi Medical Center

Their involvement provided students with a unique opportunity to explore a variety of industries — from healthcare and law enforcement to technology, education, and skilled trades.

Words That Inspire

Goodwill also thanks Terrell Guyton, the event’s guest speaker, for sharing a powerful message of encouragement and motivation with the students. His inspiring words reminded everyone in attendance that with perseverance and self-belief, every individual can find purpose and success in their chosen path.
