Realville Returns: Empowering Goodwill of Mississippi Employees Through Financial Literacy

On June 26th, Goodwill Industries of Mississippi hosted the third round of Realville – A Real-World Financial Literacy Training Simulation at the Flowood Auditorium. This engaging and educational event offered our employees a hands-on, real-life budgeting experience to help sharpen their financial decision-making skills.

Participants were placed in mock life scenarios—complete with jobs, salaries, families, and unexpected expenses—and challenged to navigate real-world financial choices like housing, childcare, transportation, insurance, and more. It was fast-paced, fun, and most importantly, eye-opening.

We extend a heartfelt thank you to Cadence Bank for leading the simulation and delivering expert guidance throughout the day. We also deeply appreciate the volunteer support from Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc. – Jackson, MS Alumnae Chapter, whose energy and encouragement helped make the experience impactful for every participant.
