Goodwill Industries of Mississippi is grateful to announce the receipt of a $10,000 grant award from the Community Foundation of Washington County in support of its BookWorks early childhood literacy program.
BookWorks is designed to promote a love of reading at an early age by providing books directly to children enrolled in Head Start programs across Central Mississippi. Through interactive reading sessions, children receive books of their own to take home, helping build early literacy skills while encouraging families to read together.
“This generous support from the Community Foundation of Washington County allows us to continue investing in early literacy and expanding access to books for young children in our communities,” said Brad Steffani, President and CEO at Goodwill Industries of Mississippi. “By placing books in the hands of children early, we are helping lay the foundation for lifelong learning.”
Funding from this grant will help sustain BookWorks programming, including the purchase of age-appropriate books and the delivery of engaging reading experiences for children during Head Start visits.
Goodwill Industries of Mississippi is thankful for the partnership and support of the Community Foundation of Washington County. Together, we are helping strengthen early childhood education and create brighter futures for children throughout Central Mississippi.
