Goodwill of Mississippi Partners with YouthBuild Gateway to Prepare Young People for the Workforce
At Goodwill of Mississippi, our mission of transforming lives through lifelong learning and meaningful work often comes to life through partnerships with organizations that share our commitment to helping people build brighter futures.
Recently, members of our Workforce Development team spent time with participants in YouthBuild Gateway, providing workforce development programming designed to help young people prepare for employment and the opportunities ahead.
The session gave participants an opportunity to strengthen practical skills they can carry with them into the workplace. Through interactive activities and conversation, Goodwill team members shared guidance focused on preparing for employment, understanding workplace expectations and developing the skills needed to succeed on the job.
YouthBuild programs serve young people by combining education, occupational training, leadership development and hands-on experiences. Partnerships like this allow Goodwill of Mississippi to complement that work with the employment resources and expertise of our Workforce Development team.
For us, workforce development is about more than helping someone secure their next job. It is about helping individuals develop skills, confidence and experience that can open doors throughout their careers — whether that opportunity is with Goodwill or another employer in our community.
