Goodwill Industries of Mississippi recently hosted its largest Job Extravaganza to date on April 17th, bringing together students with diverse learning needs from three school districts for a day focused on career exploration and opportunity.
The event featured 26 local businesses, giving students the chance to engage directly with employers, explore a variety of industries, and gain valuable insight into future career paths. From retail and customer service to logistics and skilled trades, students were able to experience firsthand what different jobs look like and what it takes to succeed.
Designed to create a supportive and interactive environment, the Job Extravaganza allowed students to ask questions, build confidence, and begin envisioning their place in the workforce.
“This event is about opening doors,” said Brad Steffani, President and CEO of Goodwill of Mississippi. “By connecting students with real-world opportunities, we’re helping them see what’s possible and preparing them for the future.”
The Job Extravaganza reflects Goodwill’s commitment to transforming lives through lifelong learning and meaningful work. By focusing on early exposure and hands-on engagement, Goodwill continues to create pathways for individuals to build skills and pursue meaningful employment.
Goodwill Industries of Mississippi extends its appreciation to the participating school districts, the 26 businesses who supported the event, and the Workforce Development team whose leadership and dedication made this milestone event a success.
As the largest event of its kind hosted by Goodwill of Mississippi, this year’s Job Extravaganza represents continued growth in both reach and impact, strengthening partnerships across Central Mississippi and investing in the future of the workforce.
