Goodwill Hosts Second Transformational Leadership Training of 2025

Updated: 2 days ago

Goodwill of Mississippi recently hosted the second Transformational Leadership Training session of 2025, which was focused on equipping team members with tools to grow both personally and professionally. The session emphasized intentional time management, self-awareness, and future-focused thinking.

One key strategy shared was the practice of planning time in 30, 60, and 90-day blocks, with weekly reviews and adjustments. Participants were encouraged to schedule focused work time on their calendars and communicate those boundaries with colleagues to stay on track.

Through an interactive "zone" activity, participants reflected on how they respond to different types of challenges. The exercise helped them identify whether they were operating in their comfort zone, stretch zone, or panic zone. The takeaway: real growth happens when we step into the stretch zone, where we are challenged, but not overwhelmed.

Attendees also reviewed how they spend their time and identified which activities energize or drain them. This exercise, drawn from the book Designing Your Life, offered insight into personal productivity patterns and helped shape clearer goals for the future.

The training concluded with a powerful planning activity, where each person mapped out three possible versions of their future and shared them in small groups. Participants left with a personal commitment to implement one change in their daily habits or mindset based on what they learned.

This training was a valuable reminder that leadership starts with self-leadership. When we take the time to reflect and plan with intention, we not only grow as individuals, we become better equipped to serve others.
