The 38th Annual Goodwill Art Show was a true celebration of creativity, collaboration, and community impact.
Held at the Jackson Prep Centre for Arts & Leadership, the event brought together more than 50 artists from across Central Mississippi, showcasing the incredible talents of individuals with disabilities. The show continues to highlight what is possible when opportunity meets creativity, perfectly aligning with Goodwill of Mississippi’s mission of transforming lives through lifelong learning and meaningful work.
This event represents a longstanding partnership between Goodwill Industries Volunteer Services (GIVS) and Jackson Prep, who have worked together for numerous years to bring the Art Show to life. Through this continued collaboration, the event has grown into something truly special, connecting students, artists, and the community in a shared mission of opportunity and inclusion.
Students from the Global Leadership Institute at Jackson Prep played a key role in continuing that tradition. Student leaders Claire Katsoboulous and Bennett O’Quinn helped organize artwork submissions, coordinate judging, and ensure the event ran smoothly. Their leadership and attention to detail were evident throughout the entire process. They also organized a student vs. teacher basketball game, raising funds to support and reward the talented artists featured in the show and adding an extra layer of energy and purpose to the event.
A special thank you goes to the GIVS organization and Jackson Prep for their commitment to making the event a success each year. Their partnership has been instrumental in ensuring its impact year after year.
The GIVS Art Show is more than just an exhibition. It is a platform that celebrates ability, builds confidence, and connects the community through creativity. Each piece of artwork tells a story, and each artist represents the power of opportunity. Events like this remind us that when individuals are given the chance to learn, grow, and express themselves, the results are truly inspiring.
