Goodwill Industries of Mississippi is grateful for the support of C Spire, whose team recently hosted a BookWorks book drive at their headquarters in Ridgeland, Mississippi.
From March 2nd through March 13th, C Spire employees collected nearly 800 books to support Goodwill’s BookWorks program, helping expand access to reading and learning opportunities for preschool-aged children across Central Mississippi.
The BookWorks program focuses on promoting early literacy and encouraging a love of reading among young children. Through partnerships with local Head Start programs and early learning centers, Goodwill distributes free books to preschoolers, helping them begin building their own personal libraries and strengthening early reading skills at an important stage in their development.
The impact of BookWorks continues to grow each year. In 2025 alone, more than 4,300 books were distributed to preschool-aged children in Central Mississippi, giving young readers the opportunity to explore new stories, build confidence in their reading abilities, and develop a lifelong connection to learning.
Community partnerships play a vital role in making programs like BookWorks possible. The generosity of C Spire employees demonstrates how organizations can come together to support education and create meaningful opportunities for children in our community.
Goodwill Industries of Mississippi is thankful for organizations like C Spire that are willing to invest their time and resources into programs that make a difference. Their commitment helps ensure the continued success of BookWorks and supports Goodwill’s mission of transforming lives through lifelong learning and meaningful work.
We appreciate C Spire and their employees for stepping up to support this important initiative and helping place hundreds of books into the hands of young learners who can benefit from them most.
