At Goodwill Industries of Mississippi, we believe leadership is not just about titles—it’s about influence, communication, and service to others. That’s why we’ve invested in a year-long Transformational Leadership Training Series, designed to strengthen the skills of our team and empower them to lead with confidence and clarity.
Recently, our staff participated in the third installment of the 2025 series, led by Everett Shuppe, a highly respected leadership coach and trainer. This session focused on one of the most important skills for any leader: public speaking.
Why Public Speaking Matters
Whether delivering a presentation to a large audience, speaking to community partners, or sharing a mission story one-on-one, the ability to communicate effectively is vital to Goodwill’s work. Public speaking allows leaders to:

Through interactive exercises and practical tips, Everett guided our leaders on how to present themselves with confidence, connect with audiences, and communicate messages that matter.
